Over 550 guests attended the event raising over $60,000. Those attending enjoyed a top shelf open bar, hors d'oeuvres, a live Cuban band, bespoke cigar roller and a fabulous silent auction among other surprises. About: Pro Mujer is a 501 (C) (3) New York based international micro finance and development network whose mission is to provide Latin America's poorest women with the means to build livelihoods for themselves and futures for their families through micro lending, business training and healthcare support. The recently formed Pro Mujer Junior Committee is a group of young New York-based professionals dedicated to generating financial support and raising awareness for Pro Mujer amongst their peers. This inaugural party represents a fantastic opportunity to support a dynamic organization while gaining visibility among New York's young, social and professional elite. Since 1990 Pro Mujer has served over 173,000 clients in need of opportunity. By providing access to credit and social services, Pro Mujer empowers Latin America's poorest to break the vicious cycle of poverty and help themselves rather than just accepting a handout.
