Manhattan's Arts Council LMCC:
MAKING OF A GOVERNOR takes you into the adrenaline-fueled journey of the 2006 New York gubernatorial race. From the Bronx to Buffalo, from the West Side to Watertown, photographers Marius Muresanu and Eric Goeres were given unprecedented access into the nerve center of the Spitzer campaign. The kickoff, the speeches, the bus tours, the strategy sessions, the debates, the press conferences, the conventions, the election, and everything in between. Also presenting New York's rich and unique gubernatorial past is Jordan Wright's Museum of Democracy, a collection of political memorabilia. Presented by
Manhattan Arts Council LMCC, "Making of a Governor" will run in
Governor Spitzer's inaugural month, January 8th through January 21st, 2007 in the magnificent Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal. More than 125,000 commuters and 500,000 visitors come to Grand Central each day, so countless New Yorkers will have an opportunity to experience the 500 photographs and multimedia presentations that comprise this compelling exhibit. About the Council:
Manhattan's Arts Council ("LMCC") presents, promotes and supports the arts throughout Manhattan. Founded in 1973 by
David Rockefeller, and housed in the
World Trade Center until
9/11, the Council offers the public a rich calendar of free events in the visual, performing and media arts - on the streets, parks, office buildings and locations where the arts are least expected. The Council's renowned artist residencies, innovative real-estate partnerships, grants and advocacy programs support hundreds of artists and arts groups each year.
